Mali Baer’s love of fashion began as a child when she would create wardrobes for her dolls out of scraps of material (including Kleenex and rubber bands!) that she found around her home. Later, Mali took this hobby to her studies and attended George Brown College, in Toronto, Canada majoring in Fashion Design.
Mali started her career at Creeds, the internationally acclaimed designer boutique in Toronto, where she quickly worked her way up to the Visual Display Department. Her creativity and eye for style took her to NYC where she started working as an assistant to the Visual Display Director at Henri Bendel.
After honing her display and styling talents, coupled with her love of magazines, Mali joined the fashion department of Elle magazine as Associate Accessory Editor, working her way up to Fashion/Market Editor. This led to further senior editorial positions at such reputable magazines as Mademoiselle, McCall’s, Rosie, Woman’s World and Quick & Simple. In addition to these full time positions, Mali has freelanced for Ladies Home Journal, Good Housekeeping, AARP, Health, Woman's Day, In Touch, TV Guide, All You, All Woman and Diane/Curves.
Mali’s “Golden Rolodex” includes designer through mass market fashion and accessory vendors, photographers, hair and makeup specialists, modeling agencies and photo studios for both fashion and beauty projects. Mali’s strengths lie in her intuitive ability to pull the right looks together that make the models, celebrities and real people look and feel great. In addition to fashion and beauty styling, Mali has added prop styling to her repertoire. Because she loves her work, Mali brings passion to every job and does it with a sense of humor and in a professional manner.
